Election and Terms
A nominating committee led by the vice president of the FEEF board accepts nominations for new board members. The nominating committee, consisting of FEEF board members, votes on candidates and notifies new members.
Terms run from January 1 through December 31 and last for three years. New board members are asked to begin attending meetings in October to aid in learning about the board and preparing to serve on committees. Board members can serve two terms for a total of six years.
Currently, there are 25 members on the Board of Directors comprising business leaders, community members, former educators and two staff members. In addition, ex-officio members include the mayor of Fairhope, the Baldwin County Public Schools superintendent, the School Board representative, a City Council representative, principals, and teacher representatives from each school.
