In the 2006-07 school year, FEEF launched two awards opportunities. The Alabama Star Award is open to all 4th graders in Fairhope public schools. The Young Patriot Award is open to all 5th graders in Fairhope public schools.

Both awards were developed as enrichment opportunities for students who want to dig deeper and learn more about Alabama and U.S. history/civics than what will be taught or required in the classroom. It will be up to the student to research and/or memorize the information on their own.

Once a month, students will have the opportunity to present one or more of the tasks involved in the award to a FEEF representative. The Awards packet includes testing days. All tasks must be completed by the end of April. The awards will be given to all students who have successfully completed the tasks on their school's awards day.
