Since its inception, FEEF has strived to support educational excellence in the classroom through a variety of initiatives. In 2004-2005, the Educational Excellence committee launched extensive research into identifying the needs of the Fairhope schools and the criteria that defines the best schools in the country.
After meeting with the faculty and administration at all six schools to understand their greatest concerns and needs, individual research committees comprising teachers, principals and community members were formed to investigate ways to address these concerns by looking at "Best Schools" practices.
As a result, FEEF established several key initiatives which further define the foundation and its efforts to enrich the public schools in Fairhope: Professional Learning Community/Professional Development, Vertical Teaming, Tutoring, AMSTI (Alabama Math, Science and Technology Initiative), and the International Baccalaureate Program. |
