Fairhope Educational Enrichment Foundation (FEEF) recognizes the importance of continuing education and professional development for teachers and staff in all our schools. Toward that end, FEEF will fund a number of grants. Funds can cover expenses incurred for attending conferences or workshops, taking on-line courses (excluding credit-bearing courses), or engaging in other activities that enhance one’s performance in the school setting. Any full-time faculty or staff member in the Fairhope school system is eligible. The applicant must have approval from his/her principal before applying for funds. FEEF may award full or partial amounts of the request.

Grant Application Guidelines:

On some occasions, FEEF will honor requests to fund activities that are not part of grant proposals or regularly budgeted items. For the request to be considered it must clearly support the mission of FEEF, which is to enrich public education, so that Fairhope schools become the best in the nation. Preference will be given to requests that “fit” the strategic objectives of FEEF – professional development, development of the arts and technical development. Highest priority will be given to an activity that benefits all the schools. In that funds are limited, there must be demonstrated a clear need and indication that good faith efforts have been made to obtain funds from other sources.

Grant Application Guidelines
1. Share desire for this grant with the principal and gain approval for the application.

2. State as specifically as possible the nature of the project and the reasons for pursuing it.  It is expected that the project will relate, directly or indirectly, to the participant’s work in the classroom.

3. Explain the goals/objectives of this experience and how it will contribute to classroom effectiveness or to long-range improvement of the school.

4. Provide a detailed, estimated budget. FEEF will pay in advance the registration fee for a conference or workshop and can provide full or partial funding for lodging and/or travel after the trip.

5. Tell how learning gained from the experience will be shared (with students, other teachers, the system as a whole?).

6. A final report must be submitted to FEEF before final reimbursement takes place.
