Mr. Pete Wiese was a member of the community who had a strong commitment to public education, specifically at the K-1 level. He was a significant supporter of the Pelican’s Nest Science Lab and served as a school patron at the Fairhope K-1 Center for several years.

Mr. Wiese passed away in the fall of 2004 and made a very generous bequest to the Fairhope Educational Enrichment’s Endowment Fund. Earnings from this gift are restricted for use at the Fairhope K-1 Center. It is anticipated that the earnings will equal approximately $20,000 per year.

Some of the areas identified by K-1 Center for this bequest are the K-1 Center Library, the Pelican’s Nest Science Lab, and various reading, math and art initiatives.
