Chicago’s legendary comedy theatre The Second City will be the featured performance at Phantasy of the Arts on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008.

Presented by FEEF, this annual gala showcases regionally and nationally acclaimed performing, visual and culinary artists.  Money raised from the event supports FEEF’s commitment to arts education.  FEEF has pledged $250,000 to the 350-seat theatre and new arts complex at Fairhope High School.  Since its inaugural event in 2004, FEEF has raised $230,000 for the complex.

     7:30 p.m. – Performance by The Second City
     9:30 p.m. – Dancing to Pensacola-based “Mr. Big”

Performing Artists:
The Second City comedy theatre based in Chicago will entertain the audience with some of the best sketches, songs and improvisations from Second City’s 45-year history.  Not only will an evening with The Second City provide the audience with the chance to see comedy stars in the making, but they will have the opportunity to see hilarious satire and cutting-edge improvisation. 
Second City has become the premier training ground for the comedy world’s best and brightest.  Their alumni list includes: Mike Nichols, Elaine May, Alan Arkin, Joan Rivers, Robert Klein, John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Gilda Radner, Martin Short, John Candy, Bonnie Hunt, Chris Farley, Mike Myers, Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Horatio Sanz, Ryan Stiles and countless others.

Culinary Artists:
Alec Naman Catering of Mobile will again put his magical culinary touch on Phantasy of the Arts 2008 with a delicious spread of Heavy Hors d’Oeuves. A full bar with top shelf brands is available for all our guests.

The arts complex at Fairhope High School will feature dedicated arts classrooms.  The arts curriculum will include theatre, lighting and set design, costume design, dance, video/film production, sound, chorus, voice, concert band, symphonic band, jazz band, public speaking, portfolio art and pottery.  The 350-seat theatre will provide a venue for various performances by Fairhope public school students as well as a venue for other community groups.  FEEF is proud to support arts education in our schools and community.
